International Health Regulations and National Preparedness was selected because it addresses an important global health and biosecurity responsibility with direct implications for patient safety, continuity and quality of care. The module progresses from foundational concepts through assessment, global health and biosecurity action, communication, evaluation and an integrated practice-improvement exercise.

Module aim
Supervision can become inspection rather than development. Managers require practical competence in governance, standards, observation, feedback, coaching, risk escalation and follow-through.
What you will be able to do
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to apply standard and transmission-based precautions according to risk.
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to perform hand hygiene and use PPE correctly.
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to maintain asepsis during common global health and biosecurity procedures.
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to reduce device-associated and environmental infection risks.
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to identify, report and respond to occupational exposures and suspected outbreaks.
