Biosafety and Biosecurity in Health Facilities
Biosafety and Biosecurity in Health Facilities was selected because it addresses an important global health and biosecurity responsibility with direct implications for patient safety, continuity and quality of care. The module progresses from foundational concepts through assessment, global health and biosecurity action, communication, evaluation and an integrated practice-improvement exercise.

Module aim
Facilities require realistic strategic plans that connect population needs, priorities, resources, risks, implementation responsibilities and measurable results.
What you will be able to do
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to conduct a rapid safety and acuity assessment.
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to assign urgency using an approved local triage process.
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to initiate immediate stabilisation within global health and biosecurity scope.
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to organise reassessment and flow according to clinical risk.
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to communicate and document emergency decisions safely.
