Essential Postnatal Care was selected because it addresses an important midwifery responsibility with direct implications for patient safety, continuity and quality of care. The module progresses from foundational concepts through assessment, midwifery action, communication, evaluation and an integrated practice-improvement exercise.

Module aim
The first six weeks after birth contain important maternal and newborn risks. Reliable postnatal contacts, assessment, counselling, mental-health awareness and referral are required.
What you will be able to do
