Module aim
Health-care-associated infection remains a major source of preventable morbidity, mortality, antimicrobial resistance and occupational exposure. Practice gaps commonly involve hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, aseptic technique, environmental cleaning, device care, waste handling and early recognition of transmission risk.
What you will be able to do
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to apply standard and transmission-based precautions according to risk.
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to perform hand hygiene and use PPE correctly.
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to maintain asepsis during common nursing procedures.
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to reduce device-associated and environmental infection risks.
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to identify, report and respond to occupational exposures and suspected outbreaks.
