Pressure Injury Prevention and Wound Care
Pressure Injury Prevention and Wound Care was selected because it addresses an important nursing responsibility with direct implications for patient safety, continuity and quality of care. The module progresses from foundational concepts through assessment, nursing action, communication, evaluation and an integrated practice-improvement exercise.

MINC is still writing this module. Its units are listed below so you can see what is coming; none of them can be started or bought yet.
Module aim
Pressure injuries and poorly managed wounds prolong admission, increase infection risk and cause preventable suffering. Nurses need consistent skin and risk assessment, repositioning, support-surface use, wound documentation, infection recognition and person-centred prevention plans.
What you will be able to do
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to assess skin, wound and pressure-injury risk systematically.
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to implement individualised pressure-injury prevention.
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to describe and document wounds consistently.
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to select safe basic wound-care actions within scope and protocol.
- By the end of the module, the learner will be able to recognise infection, ischaemia and other conditions requiring escalation.
